week 15, using games for teaching and learning

This week I learned different ways to learn which is what we talked about last week as well. We learned about second life which is a virtual video program that is useful and helps you manage life.  Gaming is a huge new way to learn and to teach kids or students important lessons.

This will help with sports management because I can use different games to help me learn new things about sports management. Also I can find different ways to learn and to teach myself.

Week 14, Distance education and Virtual Schooling

This week we learned about virtual gaming and distance learning. This is important to learn about because distance learning is becoming more and more popular as the years go on because everyone now is relaying on computers for most of their classes.

This can be beneficial for sports management because it can help me with learning new ways on the computer and new applications to be able to connect with different and all types of people. Also, distance learning will probably be important when I start with jobs.

week 13, creating a professional web presence

This week we began talking about the web presence project that is important for this class. We took a look at what the example was for the class and it was distance learning and the way it helps kids and the benefits to distance learning.

This would help me with sports management because it can make a clear and understadning view with the help of google with different important strong facts.

week 12, Social Tools and Cloud Computing

This week we discussed different ways to add important web pages or applications to a service called delicious. This is a very helpful tool and way to be successful. This is free and easy to be organized. It is a fun and easy way to social book mark.

This will be helpful because it can keep all my main pages I use for different classes like youtube and photoshop on one web page. This is very helpful and keeps me organized espcially for my major.

week 11, Open Source Software

This week we discussed what the source forum is and every one doing a couple for class. We discussed how a forum works and how a class can post things and respond and the way it can socially work.  It is a free and easy to use.

This can help me with the sports management major because it is a way to express opinions and ideas. This can be helpful for social networking or gathering information.

week 9, The sound of PodCasting

This week I learned how to make a sound of a pod cast. I also learned how it is done and the way to create one. This was beneficial especailly on a mac computer. We learned about the garage band and how it is done and performed.

This will help me with sports management because it can help me with different resources I use with computers. Also, I can use audio and change things up on presentations instead of using just visual I can create sounds.

Week 8, digital story telling

This week we learned more in depth about digital story telling but also about ways to help your story telling with audio for example. This can help the audience learn better. Also, there are different tools that help the story become more realistic and graphic.

This can help me with my major because it is important to know different tools and resources on the computer that will help you and your audience learn and connect. Also, to create more of a dramatic image to your audience when presenting.

week 7, Visual Literacy

This week we learned about digital storytelling and how it is done and the different ways it can be done. We all learned about this new application that I have never learned about before called animoto. This is a great appplication or video slideshow. We also learned about iMovie which i offered on the mac computer where we are able to create videos and put different things together in a video or even slide show.

This helps me for my major because it can help further my computer skills and different things I can do for my job to further my experience in the computer skills. Also photoshop was used in this week and this can help me with different sports projects I will use in my job.

Week 6, Media and information Literacy

This week we learned a lot about photoshop and the way it works and all the different things you can do! For example, you can change the sizes of the picture or even add things into the picture and adjust anything you want to make the image how you want it. There were many tools on the mac photoshop application.

This can help me with my major sports management because I am more aware now on about the mac apps in general but also Photo shop. In case I ever need to do a presentation I can have very interesting and unique graphics or pages that I created to help the audience understand different concerpts! Also, not many people know how to create such complicated graphics or images and this can be helpful for my job someday as well.


The video below helped me when doing photo shop because it got me to be more creative with my image. It helped make it unique to what I want and thing looks great. I used different techniques to help make the lacrosse playeres in my image look more realistic and come to life. I really liked this tutorial and what they showed me along with the tips!

Week 5, Tech Tools For Critical Thinking

This week in class we used how to make mind maps and this was useful because you can add tons of information. We used how you can start with a main idea and build off of the main idea into bubbles or sub points. This can help people be more organized. Also, it can get creative with different graphics to relate to the main idea.

 This can help in my sports management major because it can create a way for me to be organized about ideas or upcoming programs for sports. Also, for presentations that I will be doing later in jobs I can use this to help the audience understand what I am talking about with interesting graphics and colors to catch their attention.

This YouTube I thought went along well with what we learned in class and it was helpful when doing my own. I looked at this video for help with expanding my ideas and my thoughts to make it better to expanding that it made sense still. Also the right way to express my idea and the right way for the thoughts to flow off. Also, it showed how to make clear connections.

Week 4, Copyright, Plagiarism, Ethical Issues

This week we learned about the importance and meanings of copyright, plagiarism, and ethical issues. It is important to cite sources of the article or author you are using for a paper or post to make sure you are not taking their ideas. Also if you are posting an idea to make sure it is copyrighted to people can not steal your idea. This week we learned about desiging instructional media. This is a way to have good designs and organization to make it professional.

All throghout college I am going to need to know how to cite my sources for papers and tests. This is very important so I do not get a zero on my paper or get in trouble. The powerpoint on how to create a clean and professional web design was very helpful to for future classes or speeches I have to give for my job. The four key elements are contrast, repitition, alignment, and proximity.

This link is examples and advice of how to create your own website with the right designs and moves. It helps me understand the concepts of a proper and professional web page or site better. The order of facts or information is very important. As well as the colors or look of the page. There are many different factors that go into making the perfect web design.

Week 3, Web Technology

This week in class we learned about the resource, wikipedia. This is a resource that we will be using a lot in class and recommended to use. It is a great website used for creating pages and finding information. We also learned about to embedd videos on the blogger account. It is a very easy and simple process that I thought would be a lot more complicated then it was. Also, we learned about important vocabulary about the internet world that is very useful. Some of the words I knew but a lot of the terminlogy I did not know so it was great to learn more.

The internet terminology will come in great handy for future classes and jobs. These are important things I should know about and learn about. Especially since so much is done on the internet now and jobs and classes depend on the internet. Therefore, it is important to become aware of it and understand it as well as possible.

Most jobs in America, you are required to have completed some type of computer class to ensure that you know how to use a computer because most jobs incorporate a computer. Even in classes at school at UF a computer is required for success in the class.

Week 2, Educational Technology

This week we learned a lot about the mac and different icons of the mac and how to operate it. The icon apple on the top left screen is the button for shutting the computer on, off, and restarting. The dock is on the bottom consisting of many important icon features. The other main part of the mac that we learned about that was important was the shortcuts. This is simple and easy ways to getting to certain places on the mac with a simple keyboard press.

Knowing how to work the mac is very important to me and my education at University of Florida. Because, it can help my education by knowing how to be more productive on the computer and by getting more out of the computer. By knowing a lot about my computer too can help me achieve more than other students as well because I am more knowledgeable with the computer and what it has to offer.

But, not just having a computer is necessary but even better if you have a mac computer over  a PC. Week 1 Introduction

This week we set up a gmail account for the class and learned the importance of the gmail account. Also in class we learned about about the forum posting and how to post and about discussion you can have about the class with your former students. We learned some basic things about the website as well. Like how to log in with a gator link and general 21st skills that we should have to prepare us for our future careers.

These resources we learned in class can really help me with my future at University of Florida. For example, the forum posting and idea of how to interact and ask questions with my former class mates can help me build relationships with other people that go to UF. Also, the gmail account set up is a great way to learn about getting more connected with the internet and networking for my future years at UF or future job as a major in Sports Management.
